A Side Match: Springfield Rifles 20, Springfield College 17.

For the second straight week, the Rifles played a college team coming off a dominant fall campaign and came away with yet another victory, topping Springfield College by a final score of 20-17.

The Springfield Women’s Rugby team traveled down to New York City to compete in the New York Seven Tournament, established in 1959, on Saturday November 27^th for the second year in a row. It was an unseasonably warm weekend, which made for some good rugby. The Springfield Women went into to the tournament, unsure of what the outcome would be, seeing as they would compete against mostly Canadian teams, and there were a total of 24 teams in their division. Their first game was played early in the morning versus the Ottawa Banished.

For those that did not attend the mens game today the rifles won 24-6. We had a lot of new players step up big time on the field. For anyone who haven't seen the team in the last few weeks we have many new players who have come in and made an immediate impact. For the first time since I have been on the team I feel that our back line has the potential to be the strongest part of our team.
