Springfield Women Summer Results
The Springfield Women Rifles had another strong showing at the 2012 summer tournaments. They kicked off the summer with their own Eric White Memorial 7s tournament. The convenience of hosting the tournament allowed them to place two teams in the tournament, one in the social division and one in the open division. The social team, which was a mix of experience and inexperience, had to face some strong competition, but they pulled wins versus Worcester and Ithaca in order to secure the bowl championship.
Middlesex 7's Results
The men's team will likely walk away from this tournament with mixed emotions. The Rifles young inexperienced side competed fiercely with several high profile teams in what was the first 7's tournament of most of the Rifles players 7's careers. On the other hand the Rifles were just a few favorable bounces away from being 3-1 and the surprise of the tournament.
